Hi
I have made a Jalali date plug in for Smarty.
Jalali date is the official date in Iran, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan and is the unofficial date that is used in some parts of Pakistan, India, Iraq and Turkey.
With this plug in users can show the Jalali date just like the "date_format" function in smarty using a new function named "jdate_format". This function works just like the "date_format" and uses the same format conversations that "date_format" use to show the date.
The plugin consists of 3 files as the folowing:

modifier.jdate_format.php // This is the main plugin file.

function.g2j.php // This is a function that converts Georgian date to Jalali date and is needed in the main plugin file.

function.jstrftime.php // This is the Jalali strftime function and is needed in main plugin file.
